Dave Higgins started this company as a quality
home builder in 1971. Now as President of Higgins Custom Cabinetry
he manages the office, leads the sales staff, and oversees
each business expansion. His background in homebuilding and
years of experience make him an invaluable cabinet designer.
Dave has earned much recognition for his design skills and
workmanship. He won a first place award and two second place
awards for homes he designed and built for the Rochester Area
Parade of Homes in 1993, 1994 and 1995. Dave has been a long
time member of the Rochester Area Builder’s association.
He was on the Board of Directors for four years and served
as President in 1998. Dave was also voted Builder Of The Year
in 1999. Booths that won awards at local home shows, including
Best New Exhibitor’s Booth (1991) and Best Single Booth
(2002), were designed by Dave and built by Higgins Custom
Cabinetry.
Darcy Higgins has worked along side his
father for many years and became his business partner in 1999.
Darcy manages the production, installation and quality control
of the cabinets. He has been a driving force to improve efficiency
and productivity. Darcy has made many updates one being the
KOMO CNC Router machine which automates much of the cutting
process. The KOMO also works with a software program that
allows the customer to see 2D and 3D pictures of their cabinet
plans.
In addition to cabinetry, Darcy has used his shop equipment
and technical skills to serve his community by making game
boards, life-size figures and toys for special events. He
also designed and constructed a weightlifting platform for
the Minnesota Weightlifting Association.
